The Regular

Second blog update and my life has not gotten much more exciting but I have been a busy fella.

Wednesday after work I went up to the Royal Oak with 'The Juice', my fall/winter volleyball team, for dinner and drinks. After that I went to play volleyball with 'Supercachondo', my summer volleyball team. We went 1-2 for the night but all of the games were close and the other team had a really tall bearded fellow with monkey arms so we did pretty well considering. After the game we went to Temptation Tea Room on Bank where I had some salad rolls and a strawberry yogurt shake. Delicious! On my way home I got a call from my platonic gal pal Lisa asking if I wanted to meet her at Whispers, a local drinking establishment, to watch the end of the Oilers game. Never one to turn down an invitation I went and was glad I did, as I go to celebrate the HUGE Oil WIN in the company of other sports fans. I called Pisani as the game winner before OT started…no big deal.

Thursday I headed home after work and ripped up the exercise bike a bit, then went outside to lobsterize on my balcony waiting for Purdy to call. He came over and we BBQ'd up some food and then headed out to Nepean to run some errands. I stopped at the Comic Book Shoppe and picked up my funny books, and then we hauled ass to Costco. Purdy's camera went tits up on May Long weekend and he had to return it. It had been over the golden 1 year since he bought it and he didn't have a receipt, but it sounded like they would still take it back until the realized he was missing the CD and the cable. Burn! GL tracking down that CD Purdy. After that I went in Sportmart and dropped $50 on a pair of Columbia flip flop sandals. I am hoping these will be more comfortable and stylish than my $2 dollar store flip flops. I finished up my shopping extravaganza by picking up a rag I tried on in Winners. Purdy bought himself a killer pair of shorts. Rather than head back home, we decided to stop in Whispers for a drink and bullshit a little. On the patio we ran into the biggest collection of deadbeats you've ever seen that we knew from work so we ended up sitting with them. They were busy getting chitfaced and revelling in their Ultimate Frisbee win so we popped out of there and over to the Royal Oak. The waitress sat us in the darkest corner of the patio so we looked like a couple of creeps and made everybody's skin crawl. I had now been to both Whispers and the Royal Oak two days in a row. I am glad I am getting my face out there as a Mechanicsville / Hintonburg / Westboro regular. Around 11 we bounced from there and after getting home I called my Momma to wish her a Happy 50th Birthday.

I am going to Belleville today with James and Andrew to spend the weekend with my family and to see all of my old high school buddies from Nicholson and New York Fries. It will be good to see the old gang again and wish Pops a Happy Father's Day on Sunday.

Note. I am trying to post this blog entry via email. If you are reading this, then it worked.
