Thursday, June 22, 2006The Little ThingsHere are a few of the little things I have done today or currently have going on in my life: 1) I was going to come home for lunch, but at the last minute J.C. called me up so we went out and got sausages from Derek and went down to the caf for lunch. We had a great bullshit session about nothing in particular. 2) I am breaking in new sandals I bought last week. At first they were comfortable, but after 2 days of extensive wear at work they are chewing up my feet. They are flip flops, and where the material on top meets my feet is getting tore up. I have put band-aids over top of these raw skin patches but they just get peeled up and knocked off by the sandals. I am going to take a break from them for a few days and hope tougher skin grows back in its place. 3) I played tennis after work with my boy Purdy. He gave me an old school beat down. I am not very good at tennis to begin with, but tonight I played exceptionally bad. We played 3 sets and he got me 6-0 in all three. There were a couple good games which were close or where I gave up a lead, but I choked under pressure. I need to free up some time to hit balls against a wall and practice with my new racket from last summer as I need to play completely different as I did with my $10 Canadian Tire racket. 4) After tennis, I ordered Swiss Chalet. I was starving and did not feel like cooking. I despise their new regime of charging for delivery unless you spend $10, yet only charging $9 for a Quarter Chicken. This time I folded and purchased a $4 coconut cream pie to put me over the limit. It was alright, but I should have just paid the $1.50 for delivery, or got 3 extra buns for my trouble. 5) I brought my car in to get an oil change as I have offered to drive to a cottage in a couple weeks and wanted her to be in tip top shape. While there I asked if they could look into a rattle I had been hearing underneat the belly since last October. They said it would take two hours and cost about $50 to look at it, but I had my Ipod and a book so I said sure. First I walked over to Zellers (as I was at Surgenor on St. Laurent) but all it did was tear ass up my feet from my sandals. I stopped in the Dollarama, and decided I would sometime go back and buy the pint glasses they were selling for, you guessed it, one dollar. After that I hunkered down in the lobby and read. It only took about an hour and a half, and turns out it was something really simple so I didn't have to pay anything more than the initial inspection fee. Here is what they wrote: NOISE COMING FROM A/C CLUTCH INSUFFICIENT AIR GAP BETWEEN CLUTCH AND PULLEY RECOM ADJUSTING CLUTCH GAP ADJUSTED AIR GAP NOISE GONE 0.5 HOURS Boy am I glad I waited 9 months to get that fixed. It almost broke the bank!! ![]() ![]()
